After 2,132 events in ten years, I know within minutes of walking into a venue what kind of photos it's going to give me. Lighting, sightlines, the space around the stage, how guests move through the day.
This is my growing list of favourite event locations around Utrecht: central in the Netherlands, easy to reach from anywhere, and full of great venues. I'll keep adding new locations as I shoot them.

After a major fire in 2022, NBC was rebuilt from the ground up, and the result is one of the best-looking conference venues in the country. It's a family business that has hosted corporate events since 1992, and you can feel that experience in how smoothly a day runs.
The flags out front and the big LED screen above the entrance carry your event name, so the whole building feels like your headquarters for the day. Guests see your branding before they've even parked.
Inside, the foyer is full of daylight and the LED pillars pick up your branding straight away. The hospitality area is large enough for a full house to mingle without it feeling crowded, and it looks just as good at 08:00 as it does at the evening drinks.
I've photographed more than five events at NBC, and it delivers every time. The lighting is subtle but excellent: everyone looks good on camera, on stage and in the crowd. And because the stage is framed by huge projection screens, your visuals become part of every shot.
What impresses me most is how different the same hall can look. Below you see it set up for a property-sector congress in May and for a Christmas-themed company day in November.
The breakout rooms are some of the nicest I've worked in at a conference venue, with daylight and green walls instead of the usual beige boxes. The catering has been excellent every time I've been there, and it photographs well too.
The balcony above the hospitality area. From up there you get the whole crowd, the LED pillars and the bar in one frame. It's the shot that tells the story of the day.
Send your logo and event name to NBC well ahead of the day, so the entrance screen, the flags and the LED pillars are all branded before the first guest arrives. Then your arrival photos are on-brand from the very first frame.
